Microsoft Office Excel advanced programme - Predictive analysis and decisional support Open Course
OBJECTIVES & BENEFITS
Importance of Excel in business context
In the current business context, information is power. Quick access to the information you need, when you need it, can make the difference between success and failure for the business. One of the tools with great potential in providing decisional support is Microsoft Excel. Excel is much more than just storing data. It provides numerous benefits of data processing: synthesis, summarization, grouping, reporting, comparative statistics, analyzes “what-if” predictive analysis.
No matter what level you are in the pyramid management in your company, Excel is for you!
As we climb towards the top of the pyramid, the amount of data in the reports reduces, but the complexity of data processing increases. For example, the chief executive may need a comparative report highlighting the evolution of company’s products on the market, in a specific period of time and distributed by geographic region. This report is not useful for the Operations Manager, who would be more interested in the detailed report of the processing sequences for the products under his responsibility. Using Excel to manage and process such data helps you save time, improve work effectively at any level, so that you fulfill your goals and the company improves its performance indicators.
